Underclocking GPU

I have an integrated graphics (RS480) on my laptop, Im wondering if battery life would see any significant improvement by underclocking. More specifically going from 300MHz to 60MHz for core clock using ATI tool.

do you have an intel notebook or amd? Centrino Hardware Control also lets you change the clocks of ati video cards for that specific reason.

Sorry about not answering, but I havent had any time to do this, since it would take about 6-8 hours of free time. I will try it later on tonight maybe.

I have an HP Ze2308WM (walmart laptop) its a sempron 2800. Notebook hardware control doesnt let me control those settings, I think you have to register to unlock some features. ATI tool is the only one I have found that works.

Watch out though, if you drop it too low... You might have an intresting problem on your hands.

im interested to see this as well..for a non gaming laptop that didnt make much use of the gpu that might be a good idea..
