have a athlon 800 Tbird and xp1700+ sitting around not running as well

Oh, my main machine is an 800 P3, game machine is a 2.6G p4 and the laptop is 1.something p4 mobile.
Also have a 600mhz celeron, that's rarely booted up.

Take the heatsink off any AMD chip and it will cook like an egg 😉
