Under $100 Best Bang for Buck Video Card --POLL--

I voted "Ti4600", because it's probably the best bang/buck in there (and that is what you asked for), although "Spend $20-30 more for a 9700Pro" offers much better performance and usable DX9 support.

On a slow CPU, say <1800Mhz, and don't expect to upgrade soon, what performance would you expect to get? What would be the best value card then?

A XP 2500+ is 1833 MHz and can actually make halfway decent use of a GeForce 6x00 if you like very high resolutions and decent framerates. The CPU is really not a problem here unless you are one of those gamers who wants ultra-high framerates at low resolutions.

I'd go for one of the GF 4. While I recognize that ATI has better price/performance I think their drivers and driver policy don't make them a long-term choice. In my opinion ATI cards are more for those who exchange cards very often and don't keep the old ones.

9700Pro I'm still using mine. The only card I've ever used for more than 6 months. It's 2 years old now if I remember correctly. Still does a decent job in all games I play.

I voted with the 9600XT because of the decent speed and DX9 capabilities. Although I would have to say the TI4600 of you do not care about the DX9 stuff anyway. I originally voted that you were not only asking based on performance but also for the features. I say go with the TI4600 if DX9 is not important, if it is go with the 9600XT.
