Package bound to NH from NY was returned to me undelivered due to "insufficient address information." The addressee tells me he never had problems with receiving mail in the past. I asked about this problem at the post office today, employee insisted the address was undeliverable. If I ship with UPS or FEdex, and it delivers, could the post office refund me the shipping fee?

Sorry man, that cash is gone. They'll justify it by saying that they attempted to get it there, hence you owe them for that.

Take it to the local PO and get their opinion on what is wrong with the shipment address.

Were you mailing to a house or to an apartment or like that requires an apt. number? Did you confirm with the addressee his full and complete mailing address? That local P.O. employee has no knowledge of what was wrong with the address - only what was written (by the other P.O.) on the package on why it was returned. If your package was correctly addressed, fill out a complaint form. You may not get your money back but the written complaint form counts against them.
