Whoever designed that bridge was a fucking asshole, though. How much more would it have cost to allow a standard trailer to fit underneath?

then you should invent a time machine, travel back a century and tell the bridge builders about the future invention of tractor trailers.

Isn't the bridge over 100 years old? A standard trailer was probably pulled by a horse back then.

Anyway, if they don't have the banging sign I think they should put one up. Seems like it would be cheap. As for the delivery drivers that go under the sign to deliver without going under the bridge...well maybe they can just bang into it at a low speed and continue on. Of course some moron following them with a Ryder truck will probably take it as an indication to follow them but what can you do?

What if the to tall sensor was set to drop blocking gate instead of triggering a light?

I can't stop watching! The best part is that a bunch of those were from the same moving company. You'd think they would tell all their employees to stay away from that road/bridge and choose a different route. :p

It was designed and built over 100 years ago. I'm guessing that trailer heights weren't over 11'8" 100 years ago...

We have a couple of these in my home city. Even better there are a couple that will say "Low bridge, 11' 6" but are actually around 15' up there. The bridge goes over a road on a hill where the a longer truck can "straddle" the flatter portions and basically shove the top of the trailer in to the bridge.

Happens about 6 times a year. Same thing with yellow flashing lights and multiple "low bridge" diamonds.

Yea, the Lulz is kind of addicting!. I think the rental trucks are people returning a rented trucks, I would think the management would make it a point to tell all employee's that a truck cannot pass underneath it. From the looks of it the mighty I-beam has a big curve in the middle of it from so many impacts, it might have to be replaced eventually so a fresh one can start collecting morons!..
