$70k = X5 4.8i w/ sports package... drive it and you'll see why. Wait till after March if you want the new much-improved idrive.

EDIT>> oh wouldn't have in Europe... minor detail. How do they not have Range Rovers aplenty?

Yea I looked at the X5's, they are pretty nice, especially the new diesel one which gets ownage MPG and nice power too. I know Land Rovers had terrible reliability in the past, but the new V8's they use are made by Jaguar for them. I wonder if they made a better product this time?

If I was forced to choose between those I'd have to go for the Landy, but it's like choosing a turd based on which smells the least.

I still think the navi is horse's ass and if the land rover reliability is poor (check consumer reports, too), then the infiniti is the option.

No. Grand Theft Auto.

Agreed.

Silly canadians trying to co-opt our video game names with their local acronymn. Its like me trying to go online and use the term "tri-state area" and maintain it only applies to my local tri-state area.

OP - I wouldn't go for any of those. The aunt of a girlfriend owned a landrover, we got to drive it regularly to drop it off at the shop for her.

Look at a CTS-V or a Vette.

so lets get this straight a guy that's owned 50+ cars and is looking at those approaching $100k out the door decides to contact his nephew that has no clue?

shens. If you want to go tire kicking you don't need to make up an uncle.

The Land Rover and FX50 are very niche market...not in the Navigators segment.

Tell your uncle to get

This

or

this

Edit: That 2nd Polonez actually looks quite nice although I would still prefer Skoda 130

i was referring nothing about a foreign relative...just that someone that's owned 50+ cars would never have someone that's not even in the same demographic doing their search for them.

He knows a lot about cars, but he wanted me to take him around and show him some based on my tastes. He was pretty suprised at all the cars we drove, like the Range Rover with the supercharged engine, he doesn't have that there. His is a 2.7 liter diesel with 195 hp or something, they don't drive stuff like that down there. Infiniti in Poland is pretty much non existent. You won't see a Navigator there also unless you own an oil refinery.

Not sure what else to tell you...

I second this. Look at something like the JD Power initial quality surveys. LR is dead last in JD Power rankings. Plus, LR is now owned by Tata, an Indian truck and tractor company. Have you ever heard quality, reliability, and Tata in the same sentance. No, and you never will. LR's are so nice inside because you will be spending alot of time in them waiting for a tow truck when your electrics go on the fritz, your air suspension freezes up, your head gasket blows, you crack your lowsy cast aluminum block, the list goes on and on.

Yea Tata is pretty GG. Are the new Land Rovers just as bad as the ones before?
