haha what is so painful about it? that was kind a PITA cause of the controls. is that what you mean?

Yep. The combination of the controls, barrels, fast currents, and dudes shooting makes it very not fun.

yea that level is where i learned that when you shoot without pressing L to aim, that the girls accuracy is like 100% and she auto aims where she needs to shoot. so i was just plowing up the stream and pressing R repeatedly over and over. i didn't die once on that level heh.

I totally didnt mind that level. I guess becuase it was short enough. I didnt die once either. It was basically filler, but omg-blow-shit-up fun.

Take it slow and steady. Also, there are 2 throttle buttons (Square and R1?). One makes you go slow and the other is really fast. Once you get the hang of it the level is pretty easy.

I had no idea about the auto aim. I'm at chapter 16 now.

lol! theres autoaim?? now im glad i havent had time to really play 😛 hopefully i can cruise through it next week.

I just beat this tonight. Wow, what an amazing experience! As everyone else here said, it's like playing a summer blockbuster action movie (something on the lines of National Treasure). 🙂

Definitely doesn't work on Crushing difficulty. She hits the barrels easily but the bad guys will gun you down pretty easily.

Got this for Christmas. I'm enjoying it. The graphics are bothering me though. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the way my wife described it was "oversharpened" - I think she's right. The teeth look bad. I did think it was pretty cool when I walked past some plants and they moved though.

I didn't get to play too long, because I had to go to the mother-in-law's house. :| I haven't gotten to shoot anyone yet beyond the first scene. I think I was just starting Chapter 3 when I stopped playing.

Just finished the 7th level, and I'm really liking this game. The part where she was driving and I was shooting was awesome fun

I think my eyes are immune to this tearing nonsense... dodged a bullet there. I like the motion blur.

OMG this game is amazing 🙂 I haven't even got into any insane shooting parts, I'm in chapter 3 (started today, probably won't play anymore until I get back into my dorm and have it hooked up to the surround sound).
I've noticed the tearing, it's kind of obvious to me, IF I am looking for it. If I am drawn into the game, I can pretty much ignore it and really enjoy the beauty of the game.

I just finished chapter 20... nearly done. I really like it so far, but I think the sci-fi/horror stuff they threw in was crap.

Finished the game tonight. Wasn't a fan of the last two levels, but great game overall. My wife enjoyed watching me play.

Wow, chapter 6 now (PCM 5.1 surround = aural heaven?), and damn this game is impressive. I am loving the presentation of the story so far. And, the best thing of all? I just took a tour of the different bonuses, the collectibles, etc etc.. and... wow, best implementation of 'bonuses' I have ever seen. I really hate the xbox live system for the gamerscore, and the assorted points that are awarded are typically dull and merely a way to boost your gamerscore. Now granted, it's also a good way to get players to approach the game a little differently and inspire them to replay different levels to try and earn all the rewards, giving a lot more play time to a game where a straight through campaign would only offer 5-10 hours of play. That's a great plus.
However, Uncharted beats that. Yes, hopefully Sony's Home and the trophy collection help make sure that every game offers some rewards, however developers being forced to include so many points (1000) in every single game released, really drags down the concept. Not all games need them. Now, onto Uncharted. First, the treasure, is similar to but better than Halo 3's skulls. Secondly, the earning of medals earns an assorted number of points (another live-inspired thing: 1000 points): however, these points are actually meaningful: they let you unlock assorted bonuses, ranging from art and videos, to actual things that affect gameplay or the presentation: change post-process art styles, speed up character movement, allow you to equip any unlocked weapon whenever you want. But these are only accessible once enough points have been awarded. That's awesome, and really will help me get quite a few extra hours out of this game, even though there is no multiplayer. And they will be fun. Now, hunting for each treasure piece won't be my reason to replay levels, but getting to play around with assorted weapons and post-processing filters will be fun.

and I just found this out: one of the filters is 'next gen filter', which desaturates the colors, colors tend to be brownish, and a lot of extra light blooms (ala Gears of War, UT3, Resistance, Skate, etc etc).. a way of poking fun at modern game development (for some reason, a lot of games are very brown). I'm also excited about beating the game and then playing on 'Crushing' difficulty.

This game makes me nauseous very easily 🙁 I think 3rd person camera screws with me. I almost regret getting it.

The story was good, but the controls, the fact that every puzzle is for babies and the exploding barrels were in areas that made the game too easy, combined with the idea that everyone loves shooters and forgo the adventure made me dislike the game on the whole.

The motion blue might also be "helping". Luckily I don't get sick from this stuff, but when Crysis gave me the option to turn it off, I did it immediately. Here, I've been forced to get use to it, so it's not as annoying anymore.

So I finally picked this up yesterday, just said screw itm what's another $50 on my CC😉. It's very very well done. Aside from aiming and the 'un-human agility of the main character, I have no complaints. It's one of the best stories for an action game I've seen. think I'm half-way through so far, but it definately has replay value.

The jet ski is loads of fun and the pressure sensitive R2 button works wonders; way better than tapping 'W' on the keyboard. Taking it slow on those levels seems to work best.

the tearing could also cause the nauseous feeling he gets 😛

seriously though, some people experience headaches and nauseous when they vitness tearing. personally i had to turn the game off on the one level that is on the town that is in the middle of the water. it gave me a really bad nauseating feeling.

however i got to that level after playing for like 3 hours, so it could have been a mixture of both playing for a long time and the tearing on that level was pretty bad.

/me waits for all the tearing flames 😛

argh, as much as I want to watch, I haven't beat Uncharted yet. Like most games, I'll play a chapter, two, or three, then put it down as I juggle other games or don't even game at all for maybe a week or three. ADD FTW.
