Uncapping Cable Modems?

does ne1 know how 2 uncap Cable Modems? i hav a terayon tj210...could sum 1 pleaz tell me if there is a way!! :) :)

surpose it aint a good idea really.. i was just wondering if there is a way of doing it, just when i want 2 download something BIG

It depends on who your provider is, but the cap is generally on their end or at the box out near the street. Atleast that's how my Comcast is setup. There's no way to "uncap" your modem cause it's done before it hits your house.

Not true in all cases, but its not worth discussing here because:

1)these threads usually get locked
2.Your provider will find out, sometimes within hours.

Think of it this way...your current cable connections is better than the old 56k, right? I'd rather have to wait a couple hours to download a gig than a couple days/weeks.

uncapping a cable modem involves changing the config file located on the modem through one's L337 $killz.


like everyone has said, do this will ring bells at comcast and then the black helicopters will come and you will disappear.
