As far as extravagent spending for cases go, for the large majorty of people hanging out at Anandtech, building computers is a pure hobby. We upgrade components because we WANT to, not because we NEED to. As such, spending a little more on a component that's enjoyable to work with and looks good goes with the territory.

If you consider how people spend hundereds of dollars to upgrade a cpu/motherboard/memory, spending a little more on a case that will last for several years, and several upgrades, seems insignificant.

two enlight 7230's here... i've had both for 5years or more, $37 each w/psu, they look just like they did when i bought 'em. 🙂

nice find OP

Why is everybody blasting expensive cases. Just buy the Antec. That case if something for $40.00 delivered. I bought 2 just to have for builds.

I had a few in my cart and the site locked up, I exited and now I cannot get back in.
I wonder if it was a mistake of some kind...say cost! I know the profit on Lian-Lis are small as it is.

My old case is 5 years old and has lasted plenty long with lots of upgrades. No new case is needed. Plus, mine has NO windows and NO LED lighted accessories plus no silly jet engine fans wither so when I sleep I can sleep in the dark and quiet.

My buddies alll spent $100s for some jacked up case that sits under the desk and few people see. Ok, they take a picture of it and show it off. Well, here is a picture of my new Lotus

got the antec lanboy, was looking for a new case to replace my old antec 1080 amg. its just too heavy to carry around. thinking if i should jump on the lian-li pc60 60+ shipping or the Lian Li PC-V1100 Aluminum for $120 + shipping. i have to admit the PC-V1100 is a awesome price

*edit*

nooo i just noticed they ran out on the PC-V1100 🙁

Well I just spent $107 on my Coolermaster Praetorian and my previous 8 or 9 PC were cheap cases... I now can appreciate a better case and dont mind spending the extra money on one. I mean even a cheapo crap case is $30-$40 shipped...whats another $60 for a top notch case that is built much nicer?

From now on I will be using nothing but nicely built cases for my PCs.

Anyways ..damn...I really want a V2000 but $200 is more than I can swing at the moment.

The PC60 is nice but not as nice as my Praetorian...the Praetorian uses a full 1mm thicker aluminum which makes the case a great deal sturdier.

The PC-71 is what I have my eye on... $90 but I worry about those huge side panels being such thin aluminum... too easily bent.

The Coolermaster Stacker is a decent case as well but its not as cool as the V2000...the wheels and axles are the clincher. 😀

I've bought from excaliberpc.com a couple of times and got good service everytime. Abit-usa.com uses them to sell their refurbished products.

How are people getting the PC-61 shipped for $68? It looks to me like the cheapest shipping price is $35. Is there something I should know?

I chose the UPS ground shipping instead of the Fedex espress saver and my shipping total was $16. Grand total Case $50 + $16 UPS ground = $66, what an awesome deal!

Damn. The PC-61s are sold out. Is this their regular price or a sale price? Will the prices be the same once they get them back in stock?

I don't understand why anyone would spend more than $100 on a case, but >$270 is a complete ripoff and I feel sorry for anyone whose money is so easily stolen. So if you want to get a Lian-Li, this is the deal to get in on.

Same reason you drive your '81 Ford Pinto, and someone else drives a 2005 Corvette?

i picked up a Lian-Li PC-75B from excalibur for $60 cheaper then the egg and way fast shipping!

i wish excalibur had the PC-65 in black for those prices i would buy one in a heartbeat!
