I think he did a series of test flights to determine the proper altitude and distance he needed to jump form to arrive at the hole with some leeway, the suit allows one to increase drag, (drop speed) if he's coming in too hot in addition to turning ability.

Yea, I know he's a very experienced diver and all but an unexpected gust of wind and he's out of the range that the suit can adjust for, it can do many acrobatic things but it cannot gain altitude LOL.

I saw it, damm he slammed into that bridge like a bullet. Of course the usual "he died doing what he loved" crap was there but someone using one of these suits should maybe just enjoy the awesomeness of flying like an eagle and be satisfied with that instead of picking the most dangerous stunts possible and dying young, I don't get it. If I could afford it I would have no problem trying out one of these (after lessons of course) but I'd be smart and jump from a plane over an non-forested area.
