Why not get the phone company to fix the digital loop?

The AOL discrimination is not against the users, but against the company and their holier than thou attitude.

How about this solution:
Until someone has at least 100 posts, they cannot post from AOL.
Once they get over 100, they can start using any ISP. That will filter out the trolls because it would be more impossible to start new accoutns with AOL. At the same time, it would allow old time AT users to use AOL if they switch ISPs for whatever reason.
Seems like a good comrimise.

This has been suggested, before. Sorry. Our software does not allow such distinctions.

IMHO, you AOL users are barking up the wrong tree. You should be calling the AOL support desk to find out why they wouldn't cooperate with Anandtech Admins. It probably won't help any, but, that's the right thing to do.

<< However, i'd rather not pay at all... "why pay for something thats free" - thats my motto... it aint cheap, its just an alternative to obtaining something with the same equivalence but without the cost :) >>

If you don't like it, you can always go else-where. Might I suggest that you check here.;)

Actually, there's a way you could use Juno without subjecting yourself to the banners. Just do a search (with the search engines) and you'll find that little program to save you.

Doesn't netzero now limit the free hours allowed?

I wouldn't ever expect AOl to do anything, 'cuz they too need customers. "Troll" is such subjective term that if AOL followed AT and other forums' definitions or qualifications of "troll", I'm sure AOL would lose a lot of its customers. So, perhaps AT made the right decision and so did AOL. THe two don't have to tangle. . . .
