Unauthorized referrer

Posted a pic on pics.bbzzdd yesterday, the thumbnail is still there,but when you click on it a message states "Unauthorized referrer", what exactly does that mean?

Photobucket is terrible about referrers too. imgur.com is OK. Haven't tried many others.

take the link from pics.bbzzdd.com and just add the img tags:

[ img ] link [/ img ]
*remove the spaces.

Iron woode Could you please explain how you did it? When I tried to link from Photobucket it was showing my entire album. I kinda sorta figured a way to do it, but it was sloppy. And no, this wasn't supposed to be a babe thread, the pic was supposed to go to another web site forum discussing the hiring of people with tats. Good thing I cropped off the lower half of my grand daughters pic. If I figure out how to post my stored pics, maybe in the babe forum I'll share so more of her. 😉 Another forum I'm a member of allows you to simply post directly from your computer, easy peezy.

pics might only work with anandtech.

so you may need to find another picture host.

I think i understand, but to be clear exactly as you wrote it? including the [, ]'s and / ? I see the pic is now working on picsbbzzdd, did you have something to do with that? How is it that it worked fine for an hour, or so before the unauthorized referer showed up? Was it due to the way I uploaded it? I am your student, and am taking notes sir.

You right click the image once it's hosted and select 'copy image address' - then you go to where you are composing your post on ATOT and click on the image button on the row of icons at the top of the compose message box. Simply paste in your copied image address into the pop up box that appears and hit OK - then PROFIT.

I had nothing to do with that.

I have always linked images that way. the brackets define the command img and the / denotes the end of the command. there is an image button when replying. you could try that.
 
I just host my own, though I've been meaning to find or code a better script, the script I have kinda sucks. Imgur is usually my 2nd option and works fine.

Honestly I'm not even sure how imgur manages to stay afloat, the bandwidth usage must be through the roof.

I have no idea how sites like that make it either. A quick google showed IMGUR got 40 million in VC funding in 2014, but that's it.

I use one of my two websites to host images on, my smugmug one. Not free but ultra-reliable and fast. No downtime that I've ever noticed either.
