After I finish the Remove Present Catalyst/drivers etc. step.....then it tells you it must restart to complete: It starts back up BUT in SAFE Mode w 1st message: "Quick Stream Error: The license installed is not intended for this computer." Then another: "C: \Windows\system32\atiadlxx.dll not for Windows or has an error"
I have now called AMD T. Support and they have given me a Case #:
The TS person sad he had NEVER heard of a system going into SAFE Mode like mine does on re-boot. I realize now, he was following and sticking to his regular script even if BIG variation and NEW Problem. He told me 1] once again uninstall AMD 2] Download/Install CCleaner - to remove ALL AMD stuff from registry............I told him that I would now be in SAFE Mode, ad he said to use CCleaner in safe mode and restart. He seemed to think it would be easy/self explanatory figuring out where/what to remove using the CCleaner = WRONG! I once "bricked a puter using that program thus am very wary of it......I carefully investigated and I did find a bunch of old AMD entries under "dll" I believe....I removed them. Restarted....right back into SAFE Mode where I was.....and can't believe it but I got the same BUMMER messages. I had to use a Restore Point to get back into reglular useable 'puter again......tried one more time to see IF possibly it would update the AMD Card Drivers....back to SAFE Mode w same Messages again???
Will be back to AMD Tech Support on Monday.....unless someone here reads this and understands the problem and thus can share the solution with me...............
THANKS michael
