Unable to select text

For some reason, I am unable to select text?

I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

Whenever I try to select any text by holding down the mouse button and dragging the cursor over the text, as soon as I release the mouse button, the text is no longer highlighted.

This is really frustrasting!
 
Just did a little googling... try resetting the theme back to standard on yuor profile and see if the problem persists
 
The problems seems to occur mainly in Firefox/IE (perhaps because I use these more often!), but also in Word.

I have already tried changing to a standard non-Aero theme.

This has happened to me too. Then, I noticed that there is no actual text on the web page; it is an image. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing?
