Unable to Open Some Sites w/ IE 6

It seems ever since I down loaded a recent IE cumulative patch, I cant seem to open some web sites, ie download,com, cnet.com etc. Just says "opening page" then times out. Advises "cannot display page". Any ideas? I have an external Speedstream DSL modem which i've had for 2 years with no problems. Thanks in advance. rpd162

Well, try re-installing that patch and see what happens, if not, check your provider because it could be the problem

just get mozilla firebird, higher powers are trying to tell you to switch

Yea, I am using MozillaFireBird too but the problem is that many of the site are designed for IE at first so some plug-ins such as Windows Media Player cannot be embedded inside the browser. And I still can't get java plug-in work for MozillaFirebird
