Unable to OC my RAM...

HEre is a brief description of my config:
- QX9650 on Asus Maximus Formula
- FSB: 361 MHz
- Mult: 11,5 => CPU 4151 MHz
- 4 x 1GB Ballistix-8500
- Strap 266, coef 3/2 => RAM 1,083 MHz 5-5-5-15
- VCore 1,44v true
- RAM: 2,4v
- FSB Termination: 1,4v
- NB: 1,5v
- SB: 1,05v

Mu current config is stable (30' OCCT).
I would like to improve the performances of my RAM (currently close to the standard specs), but all my attempts failed...

I first try to reduce the timing to 4-4-4-12 or 4-5-5-15 => crash before BIOS.
I tried the strap 333 mult 8/5 (to obtain 1,155 MHz) => crash before BIOS.
And all other FSB/mult setup were unable to reach 4,1 MHz (and even to reach 1,100 MHz RAM).

My questions are:
- Is it possible to obtain this strapp 333 mult 8/5 (1,155 MHz with 5-5-5-15) ? If yes, how ?
- The setup of CAS 4 with current config fail; but would it be possible to find another setup (other parameters) to have it at this frequency ?
- Even if CAS 4 is not possible, would the modification of the 3 other main timings be possible, with significant perf improvements ?

Bill, your RAM is overclocked. PC8500 RAM is only guaranteed to run @ 533 Mhz/1066 DDR. The reason it isn't overclocking very far is because you're using four sticks. And I'd seriously recommend that you run it 1:1, so you can lower your vdimm. Running your RAM faster than 1:1 really doesn't accomplish much performance-wise, at least with things other than synthetic benchmarks, although it does seem to help slightly in Folding @ Home.

If you insist on running your RAM @ such a high speed, you'd probably be doing yourself a favor if you invested in two sticks of Geil Evo One. They're supposed to be the best overclocking 2GB sticks available.

Really ??? Using 4 stick instead of 2 reduce the OC potential ?!?

I will run EVEREST bench using 1:1 (but I will need strap 333 to do it). With such RAM freq (722 MHz), I guess I will be able to use 4-4-4-12, or even 3-3-3-9.

I will keep you informed of the results.
