Unable to load operating system?

Just bought a new dfi NFll Ultra Infinity motherboard,installed it went into bios auto detect drives.Computer detects everything but stops and says"unable to load operating system"I'm running win2k pro.Whats wrong?

no a regular ide.what do I have to do to save the stuff on the drive?find the exact mb online if i can?

Just a quick question. Are you installing your old HDD (with Operating System) with your new system MB? It sounds like it based on your comment, "I'm running win2k pro." That's not exactly a recipe for success. LMK.

That HD has the drivers for the old mobo/chipset. Unless the new mobo has the same chipset as the old one, you've got driver conflicts.

I've always reformatted

Glad it worked out for you. I'm like Fern though, I usually reformat for a new MB but hey, anything to save some time in a pinch is good. 🙂
