Unable to get sound from speakers

I recently bought a new computer with an Audigy 2 ZS sound card and hooked up my old speakers which worked fine on my old system. Problem is I can't get sound from them. I tried the sound diagnostics in Creatives software and it passed all the tests except I can't hear anything. I tried plugging in the speakers in every combination I could think of as well. I also can't hear anything on my headphones when I try to play a CD in the DVD drive. Could this be a problem with my sound card?

First uninstall it. Reinstall it. Plug your headphones into the port that shows an arrow pointing outward from some soundwaves that has a little number 1. Turn up the volume. Go to the sound/volume manager and make sure everything is ok.

Other than that, I dont know what else you can do.

Looks like I deserve dumbshit of the year award. It turns out there is a whole second set of audio outputs on the back of my computer that I totally missed. I guess I was plugging my speakers into the onboard audio.
