unable to get dual monitors to work

hey guys... im trying to run dual monitors on my machine, but its not working. i currently have an agp vid card and i just installed a generic 8mb pci card. i plugged both monitors in, booted up, and installed the drivers for the new vid card. but im getting a 'code 10' device cannot start message in device manager. anyone know whats up?

sounds like something someone in OS, general hardware, or software forums could fix

might be uh. lemme remember

check the IRQ's first

and i forget if you have to turn dual monitors on or not.. its been a long long time.

yeah i went to the control panel>display>settings and selected my second monitor and checked extend my desktop, but it doesnt work. wtf? how do check irqs?

it should be in the properties of the card. make sure there is no conflicts

its pci bus 0, device 15, there are lots of other devices in pci bus 0, but none are listed as device 15 except the card.

no its not in the pci slot right next to the agp... should it be? this is in OT bc i get the best/quickest responses here.

Your dual monitors can wait, if your power supply was exploding then fine, otherwise keep it to the right forum.

It's not IRQ. Are you using an ATI card? Those have a lot of conflicts with PCI cards.
But the solution is to set your computer to start up from the PCI card in the BIOS, and it should work fine then.

ok, got it working, thansk for the help! but now i cant get the second card (pci) to go any higher than 640x480. whats up?
