I recently built a new system, and everything was working just fine, then suddenly last night when I started it, it appeared to boot fine, but then once it went into windows the screen just went black. After some troubleshooting today, I figured out it was a problem with the resolution. I hooked up a different monitor and was able to get into windows and configure the original monitor, but it will only allow me to display up to 1024x768. However, if I connect through a vga cable, then I can display 1920x1200. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? While I can survive with vga, mainly text just doesn't seem as sharp. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, but that hasn't helped, although maybe I need to use one of those programs that really wipes them out. I've only used windows so far. It's an xfx 8800gt with a soyo 24". Thanks for any ideas.

I had similar issue with Soyo 24". I don't know what the issue is but I remember checking something in Catalyst (I have an ATI card) and it went back to normal. I don't remember what the setting is and I don't know if Nvidia drivers would have something similar.
