unable to connect to server sometimes behind router

i have a server behind a speedstream 4 port router. the problem i am having is people can connect fine, but sometimes even random times something happens to the router and you can not login to the server. the people who are already logged in are ok. outgoing connections and internet are ok and i can connect to the server from within the network, the problem is people outside the network can't connect. i also have no idea this has happened unless i try and login from outside the network. what i have to do is manually reset the router and then everything is fine.

any ideas of what i can do to prevent this from happening? i'd rather not have to reset the router everytime.

Just bought the same router this weekend and I have the same problem. Finally had to just disconnect it and I am running routerless right now (eek) till I get my new Freesco router/server up again. My brother who is a Network engineer started laughing when I told him which router I got. Then he said, so what router you plan to buy next month when this one craps out? This gave me cause for concern.

wow that sucks.

i finally got an email back from tech support giving me some stuff to check & try, but none of them worked 🙁
