Unable to activate XP!?

it says unable to establish a connnection with the activation server. please check your network settings and confirm that you are able to connect to the internet, then try again.

This is a problem my friend got. Can anyone please give some advice on what to do about this?
His internet connection is working fine, prolly not a problem with that.

I would agree, call them up. They will have someone working today.

Have you tried disabling XP's built-in firewall? It would seem odd that this would be a problem but it might be worth a shot.
