While web surfing I click on a link to view a film trailer -
Pop up says I need Qucktime, click here to install, but I decline by clicking 'x' to close...
This morning I find Quicktime linkage in my Start/Programs menu, (plus an entry for PRINTME INTERNET PRINTING)
plus regClean shows a registry entry 'Quicktime'....and a new 'Core' entry
These are of course not the programs, just linkage to the websites to get them.
How in the Sam HIll Blue Blazes does this junk get on my computer ??? (some weeks ago I undertook the tedium of setting security for Internet Zone and TRusted Sites - apparently that got changed maybe by Microsoft during patch downloads (?) )
Now have security set for active x/scripts prompts - Will this keep this garbage out? (very tedious)
btw How in the h*ll do these companies expect to generate good-will by this sort of subterfuge? Like I'll ever buy anything from them.
