Un-separate the forums.

OT was really crazy back when it was just one giant pile and you would get lost real fast. but now it is too lean. Striking a balance is not easy.

"The Garage" should be more than just cars.

I was thinking DIY- home improvement type stuff too (since it would be better than creating a new DIY forum) since I am building a woodshop in my garage. Cars go in the driveway.

Then it might actually be a more useful forum.

I liked having YACT, YAGT, and things of that ilk in OT.

Some separation is good to keep the forums from devolving into madness, but right now it's too segmented. No one really ventures between forums much.

But I'm a buffet-style forum user, so...

I like it the way it is now. I can read my OT literature without having to sift through how to clean the carb on a '76 Charger (The Garage) or hear about someone's first date at the age of 28 (Love & Relationships). It would be nice to see a sports forum, but overall the new layout is very

I'd like it all back together, even P&N.

I remember when pressing F5 in the middle of the night on ATOT wasn't fruitless 🙂

Why the hell someone would go to Anandtech to discuss health and fitness, or how to repair a vehicle got me. I would find the website that would be dealing with whatever I want. I come to anandtech for the computer aspect of it and it's OT section as the people that frequent anandtech's OT have the same interests as I do for the most part. If I wanted anything detailed on fixing my vehicles, I doubt I would find the answer here. I'd have much better luck at automotiveforums.com or something like that.

If people share the same interests in you there's a good chance they have similar lifestyles to you... so why wouldn't you want Health and Fitness advice from them?

Then put it in OT, it is OT for a Computer/tech forum.

every non computer related crap should be siphoned into OT and P&N. that's it.

Some of the spin off forums have been much better than when they were in OT. Much better posting quality with much less of the OT thread crapping.

If you're too lazy to click 1 extra link.....

Why would you want it in OT? It's doing great the way it is with a lot of informative threads and posts with little disruption from kiddies who hit their parents liquor cabinets late at night. IMO it's thriving and there's no reason to merge it with OT. If you were to take a poll of those who frequent that forum they would overwhelmingly support it staying seperate.

Ah screw it. Just make 1 Forum called "Forum" and everything from "For Sale" to "How do I Overclock my Keyboard" to "Nef HERE!!!!" can be conveniently located for all!!

Shouldn't you start a new thread? Then we can have a poll!!!!

BTW, I vote yes to the quote.

Well for one thing some of the nonsense allowed in OT and P&N isn't allowed in other forums.
