I searched, and did not find anything posted yet

Looks like big news....seems to be a big negative mark for Iraqi 'cooperation.'

Blix & co. looks like they tried to bury it letting the info out this late on a Friday.

VERY disturbing....

So for those that do not want to attack now, this is a taste of what the UN will face the next time Saddam decides to try and make a Pan-Arab state.

and the us has bombs with more intelegance than 99.9% of the people in iraq.

Old news...

.... crop dusters work, too.

Actually it is really really hard to disperse a biological agent from an aerial sprayer. A drone would be too small to dispense meaningful amounts of chemical agents, and would be easy to shoot down as well. US forces and Israel are relatively safe from this sort of thing if it even really exists.

21,000 litres of biological weapons sounds like a lot... its about 6,000 gallons, and a backyard swimming pool can easily hold 2x that. so, hard to hide? i think not.

yup yup

we should go ahead and get the voting in the security council over with and start bombing them, no need to wait any longer!

US officials were outraged that Hans Blix, the chief UN weapons inspector, did not inform the Security Council about the drone, or remotely piloted vehicle, in his oral presentation to Foreign Ministers and tried to bury it in a 173-page single-spaced report distributed later in the day. The omission raised serious questions about Dr Blix?s objectivity.

Why would Blix hide this? Did he not believe it was important?

It has a 24 foot wingspan, its big enough to carry enough bio or chemical weapons to do plenty of harm to troops. Yes they can be shot down, but that would stop some from slipping through and dropping stuff on ground troops.

Isn't the point why have the delivery system if you don't have the weapons?

The weapons being the chemical or biological agents that were not declared in the orginal report required by 1441.

This just proves that France-China-Russia-did not even read the document or only wish to try to bully the USA

Where Does Blix Get Off Holding Back This Info?

Blix 'hid smoking gun' from Britain and US
  • The British and US ambassadors plan to demand that Hans Blix reveals more details of a huge undeclared Iraqi unmanned aircraft, the discovery of which he failed to mention in his oral report to Security Council foreign ministers on Friday. Its existence was only disclosed in a declassified 173-page document circulated by the inspectors at the end of the meeting ? an apparent attempt by Dr Blix to hide the revelation to avoid triggering a war.
Baradei disgusts me, but now Blix is starting to piss me off! :|

Blix's objectivity has always been questionable. It is not his job to accent or downplay facts. It is his job to present the facts. His job is not to be concerned with averting a war.

Aside, these drones are not terribly effective. By the very nature of their mission they would have to fly low and slow. Even then any chem or bio agent they spray would be ineffective unless conditions were perfect, ie. there was no wind and the temperature was just right.

Everyones objectivity is questionable though. The only way it cannot be is to provide a shopping list of things found. People want more though. They want to know about things which entail judgment and interpretation. True that Blix is not there to prevent war, but he does realize that both sides are going to use whatever he says to promote their perspective/agenda. His is not an easy job even in the best of circumstances.

I agree with your threat assessment (you are relieved I know HP 😉 ). More Americans are going to die from slipping on the rubber duckies their kids forgot to remove from the tub than from this.
