Second link is where Fox is quoting from, but it looks like a pay site.

Climate change skeptics "are people who deny the link between smoking and cancer; they are people who say that asbestos is as good as talcum powder," he said.

"I hope that they apply it (asbestos) to their faces every day."

WTF is wrong with this guy?

So if you are just SKEPTICAL of MMGW, he wants you to basically get cancer and die. Is this what mainstream progressives have become these days? I realize you guys are big on the 'ends justify the means' thing.. but seriously.. if you are unsure and question their work, you should die or get a horrible disease?

How he goes from smoker and cancer to asbestos and talcum power I am not sure. But this guy is a certified lunatic. He needs to be removed from his position IMMEDIATELY.

How can we seriously take the work of someone like this seriously? This is bordering on lets load all the jews into a gas chamber type of thought pattern.

Well, he should think back to the killer bees, avian flu, Y2K, etc. ad tedium. Anybody can find multiple examples in history of hysteria being baseless and multiple examples of things we thought were fine not being fine (mercury, lead, asbestos, multitudes of chemicals, etc.). Since this is not any of them it cannot possible be looked at like they are.

Oh the outrage.

Perhaps he's a little tired of being labeled a fraud and a liar who only wants research funding.
You know having your professional reputation sullied on a daily basis by unqualified morons on the internet might get under your skin after a while.

Buck up OP, he didn't drown your cat, stop crying.

Right, I get it.. so when you get frustrated you should wish death upon those who disagree.. makes total sense.. Perhaps Obama should come out and encourage Republicans to start shooting themselves in the head? Seems completely acceptable given how much flack he's taken.

And this is coming from the Chairman of the IPCC? Wow...he sounds like a wacko instead of one of the world's top climate scientists. How embarrassing.

From the quotes in your post what I gather is that he is drawing parallels of the links between asbestos/cancer, smoking/cancer and CO2/climate change. He suggests the same people who deny the science of climate change are of the same sort that denied the science linking those harmful substances to health problems. As you can't exactly "rub your face" in climate change to show how fine it is, he suggests the alternativie of asbestos.

Bravo, FNE! You went to Godwin's law in the OP! :awe:

Read Kntx's response for some perspective.

I wish to fuck you wouldn't make jokes about people slapping their wives around. How does such garbage thinking even enter your mind. And don't try to play stupid. Nobody but you mentioned slapping around wives.

from Fox News article said:
"It's all part of a pattern," he continued. "But let me clarify. I have no proof. I can only presume something like this is at work."

Fringe writers - be on alert.

In a race for stupidity, you've beat FNE by a nose. Well done.

In my days of debating Holocaust deniers who claimed that gassing with Zyclon-B was scientifically impossible, on occasion I suggested to them that the best way to test this was for them to step into a sealed room and open a can of Zyclon-B. I don't think this guy was being any more literally serious than I was. I wasn't being literally serious of course, yet I also wasn't trying to be funny, at least not in a "funny ha ha" sort of way.

If you were the UN Chief Holocaust Spokesperson, it would certainly have been out of line. People in positions of power and leadership should be held to higher standards than woolfe9999 talking on the internet.

He needs to wake up and see the most recent research and numbers. We aren't warming up anymore. Haven't for a couple years now. We're getting colder. The 400 thousand square mile INCREASE of polar ice in the last couple years is just one example.

With "climate change", whether we get colder or warmer they're still right. And they still get to justify stuff like cap and trade and sending boatloads of no-strings-attached cash to developing countries because it's all our fault.

Of course. I reflect people's stupidity back to them better than they shine it on me. What you can't comprehend is that I'm not full of phony pride and can delight is making a fool of myself when it serves my purpose.

These climatologists are an embarrassment to science and should resign their positions.

Regardless of what a person's opinion is of human effects on global warming, the gross negligent mismanaging of data, active squandering of dissent, as well as these sort of idiotic remarks are indications of individuals who choose not to be objective and are rather petty.

When it comes to misogyny, racism, fear and stupidity FNE cannot BE BEAT!

He is, after all, a classical conservative and passionate of the Christian values.

It's what they do.

Look Corn, i respect you and all that sheit, well actually, i've come to respect you less and less because of all this bullsheit but still, i respect you.

Perhaps you should be a tad more careful about who you defend though, FNE is an obvious ideological troll, there is no doubt what so ever about that.

As if that wasn't enough, he trolls and leaves when his arguments don't hold up, which makes him leave pretty much every single thread he has ever participated in.

Ideology doesn't really matter when the actions don't reflect what your ideology stands for but some will defend the ideology before the actions again and again and again and again, sometimes even AFTER being proven wrong.

I'm not a nutter, i know fully well that the US will do what the US will do and we ALL know that GW started the bailouts and if he had had the time he'd do what Obama has done.

It's stupid though, IME giving clearance check to do whatever will lead to more abuse.

I'm awaiting a new thing now so if i dissapear before a reply is given..
