Let me guess, you have the cheapest ATT plan in Chicago (Basic, I think it's called)? If you can, upgrade that connection to the fastest (Elite) speed. I went from bare-basic Verizon DSL in NYC (512kbps - not my choice, either) to ATT Elite here (supposedly up to 6mbps) and I can't believe I ever handled the slower speed. For $15 bucks more upgrade from Basic to Elite, you'll never go back to the Basic again.

Now if only ATT would actually FIX the phone wiring in my area. I ordered the 6mbps speed, and the technician came out to install the jack and said it was so bad, I'd be lucky to get 4mbps out of it. Luckily, I've pretty much hit that speed regularly, so it's all good anyways.

Stupid comcast, I use to get 24/6 a few weeks ago but now I get 9/5. Damn monopoly, I am probably going to switch soon.

Mine also dropped for some reason (recently, too). I don't know if they're having issues or what. Sometimes it goes full speeds, sometimes it goes REALLY slow, sometimes the ping is crazy high, etc. I'll probably call them about this soon...see what's up.

Eh... At $20/month, the cheapest is fine for me. I don't want to pay for the faster one. If I need to download a large file or something, I'd go to campus and do it. The lowest tier is certainly fast enough for what I want to do. Occasionally, I'll have to let a video load for a few seconds before playing it, but that's not a big deal.
