If it trimmed say 400 pounds, down to about 2700, put on another hundred or so horses...i might sell the soul for one....:)

Vipers are well over 3K lbs last time I checked, & nobody bitches about them having "only" 500 HP. Plus Vipers aren't AWD. Then again a Viper also has torque to match it...

Yes, this is why I'm always talking about wanting a turbo viper with 7-800hp or more. Not quite sure how practical it is to launch a car like that on street tires, but I'm sure its quite strong in the mid-range. Its odd that with real asian ricer roots, I'm more into hennessey vipers than hondas.

360 & Gallardo, respectively.

The Gallardo would be a blast to drive though.

I can't believe nobody caught the name of the author!!! :D

I think the car is beautiful, and I love the color. That color looks GOOD on a car LIKE THIS. It's supposed to make you see it from half a mile away! :Q

its volkswagen's fault :D

haha! :D

Actually, the Murcielago is said to be one of the best modern Lambo yet. It is much 'easier' to drive than any other to date. Audi wanted it so you didn't have to be a tremendously strong person to drive it... gears can be shifted with a finger, steering can be done with one hand.. etc, this was not the case with most Lambo's before it.

i don't think that's the stuff you worry about if you're buying a lamborghini... :)

Take that car sans body, and use a cardboard box instead and I would STILL pay what they are asking if I could.

If the deisgn is really so popular, why doesn't some company come out with a similarly designed car and price it at around $40-50k? I'm sure people would go nuts over that.

It would just look stupid on a regular car. But, the Gallardo and Murcielago have the flat out performance to match the wild looks, so it fits. A car that, while fast, isn't Lamborghini fast would just be rediculous if it looked like that.

Nobody would buy it.

Most exotics are too low, dont ride very well, and are very wide. They have visibility problems since most have no back window due to their mid-engine design. Those are features people with 200k to spend don't worry about because they already have other everyday cars. Most people expect a certain degree of luxury from a 40-50k car, and sacrificing performance for design doesn't hold well in the consumer market.

From a manufacturer's standpoint, mid-engined cars have few cross-platform uses. A well-enginered platform can spawn a variety of models and designs (think nissan or audi/vw). It may not make financial sense for a large manufacturer to take the risk in designing a car with a unique platform that may not have a market base to support it.

Now, see here:

The Modena's the car you'd drive around town tryin' to pick up chicks in.

The Gallardo's the car you'd drive around town tryin' to ditch the cops.

Two different sides of the male psyche...:D

That's exactly what I was going to post. :disgust:

Are all Lamborghinis going to have Countach-derived body-styling until the end of time?!?

Would you prefer that they have Hyundai derived styling like Ferrari?

I dunno <shrugg> .... it looks kind of "ho hum, another Lambo" to me. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have one, but I'd muuuuuuch rather have the Enzo :)

This Gallardo is 10x better looking than the Enzo, and on par with the 360 Modena, IMO.

Agreed, although not many cars are as purely gorgeous as the 360...mmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)

I think the Murceliago is ugly as sin. Looks like a big cockroach, especially from behind. I just don't like Lambo's; not even the Diablo. The only ones I've ever liked have been the Miura and the new Gallardo.

Yeah, I was pretty much talking about the 360 when I said that.
