Umm...God is a mechanic?

Alright, here's what happened:

I was at my girlfriends house tonight. At 10PM I got in my car to drive home, and the car wouldn't start. I could turn on the headlights, and run the radio off of the battery. However, turning the key in the ignition would only produce a low "whirring" noise somewhere under the hood; the engine wouldn't even try to start to turn over. Tried different things for about 15 minutes, with no change, before I finally gave it up as hopeless. It's a well maintained 1997 Ford Taurus with no history of trouble.

So I went inside and watched TV until 11PM. My girlfriends family invited me to stay for the night, and call a truck in the morning. I thanked them and walked to my car to get some information from the glove compartment.

On the way, I kind of prayed under my breath -- "Please God, give me a hand here. Just let the thing start, so that I don't have to trouble these people." Sure enough, with the first turn of the key the car started without hesitation.

It was a wierd feeling for me. I know there's some logical explanation (I don't know anything about cars). Still... 🙂

this sort of thing has happened to my parents before.

when my mother was pregnant (about 20 yrs ago), she and my dad were visiting her grandmother in LaCrosse. My dad had a yellow firebird, worked perfect, no probs. They were getting ready to go home and the car wouldn't start. Just sat there dead as fried chicken. About 15 minutes later my mother started going into contractions, she got real dizzy and almost passed out. My dad called an ambulance and they took her to the hospital just in time to surpress the internal bleeding. She had an ectopic pregnancy.

The scary thing was that my parents lived about 15 minutes out of town at the time. If they would have went there when they planned, she wouldn't have made it to the hospital in time, she was lucky to be in town. Then when the ambulance drove her away, my dad got in the firebird and somehow it started and he followed her in.

Information? What kind of information? Are you sure you weren't just going to get your rubbers? 😀 😀 :Q

when i was little, like around 6-7, i was waiting for my mom to come home, and i really wanted her to come home, so i was like "please god, let my mom come home" and when i lifted my head, i saw her car pull in. freaky eh? i'm atheist though, sometimes i wonder if god smites me for it.

one time I was like "please god lemme have some mountain dew" so I opened the fridge and there was some! except I had bought it earlier and forgotten about it, but maybe god reminded me or something. I think god is a programmer. those cars sound like they were made by microsoft if you get my drift.

yep 🙂
