IRL = F1?

IRL = open wheel racing, based entirely in the U.S. with most races run in the U.S.

F1 = the pinnacle of all motor racing, based entirely in Europe but runs races all over the world.

There is another open wheel league, the CART aka Champs Car (US) but it is on the decline.

Fixed.

omg the feminists will be on this like syrup on pancakes.

I kind of wish that such a big deal wasn't made of this because of the added pressure put on her. God, she's only 23 for Christ sake. Still, Kimi Raikkonen was only 20 when he came into F1 and he's driving for McLaren Mercedes now, winning races, and out performing a vastly more experienced team mate.

Still, the pressure she's bound to be subjected to now is more than anything she's ever felt before. I hope she can handle it.

[/b]33rd Larry Foyt #41 14 laps (accident) $189,305 [/b]

Not a bad payday for only running 14 laps. What's the price tag on a race ready IRL car ?

When the IRL started, a rolling chassis was around $250-300k, and engines less than $100k.

One F1 car is $2 million... hahahahahahahaha
