searched and only found this buried inside a HSBC thread.

$1,000 min. is not that bad if you use your savings account as a source for emergency funds, which is what I do. Other than that, I don't see any negatives.

I have used this bank for over 7 years with no problems whatsoever. They consistently have the highest rates in comparison with other banks. I would also suggest opening one of their basic interest checking accounts, so you can earn interest while also being able to withdraw your money for free from any ATM. Works well when I'm down at the BJ tables in Vegas and dont want to pay the annoying $3 ATM fee =)
