Official footage released which shows police in Los Angeles, California brutalizing Samuel Arrington, a homeless man. The video contradicts official police reports that “Suspect Arrington lunged at one of the officers and attempted to grab his service belt.” The incident began when Arrington was confronted by police about an umbrella and other items being placed “outside of a designated area” on a public beach.

5 cops for an umbrella? Then beat the guy down, try to prevent someone from recording by using force, then lie on the report?

I'm sure there will be criminal charges filed on these cops. Right? Right? Ri. ...awe screw it.

5 cops? I count 6-7. Brave men in blue. Does it really take that many cops to control a guy sitting in a chair? And despite 4-5 on top of him they still had to taze? Fucking animals. So glad people are filming this shit, but that's only Part A. Part B is getting them off their jobs and that seems extremely hard to do.

"If he wasn't breaking the law, he wouldn't have gotten beaten down by cops. It's very easy to not break the law", said some retards.

He was definitely wielding that folding chair in a threatening manner. Those cops have all watched wrestling, they know folding chairs are lethal.

Damn, I thought you and your pro-kill cops agenda had been banned. Shame.

Anyways, I support these cops' decision to beat this guy. Guy should keep his homeless belongings off my public beach and its designated areas.

A society on camera, is a polite society. Or so the theory goes... we just have to give it some more time. It's a generational shift sort of thing... that their actions have consequences is a relatively new concept for them.

Maybe, but these videos are shedding light on the police in America. The tide will turn against the police. We just need to be patient.

Ironically they keep reminding us of exactly that.....

It is long past time to call this shit exactly what it is, violent felony criminal activity. What's worse is that they are far more dangerous than your everyday thug. At least I can fight back against a thug and at least if I lose and he kills me there is a chance that he will be prosecuted and removed from the street.

The blue criminals are, and have been for quite a while, the worst criminal you'd ever want to come across. I'd lay money that if they were private most large police departments could be tried under RICO laws.

Seems like they gave him plenty of time to comply to their requests and then he resisted arrest when they attempted to arrest him for non-compliance.

And it didn't really look like a beating to me, just a lot of cops exercising the arrest. I'm not sure why they needed THAT many but with the way the people in this country treat police officers these days I'm not surprised.

If you comply with police you don't get arrested (or you do if you're doing something illegal enough to warrant it). After being arrested and processed is the time to fight injustice against the police.

I really enjoy reading what all you arm-chair cops would do in these situations when you aren't in it and DEFINITELY are not being exposed to the entire confrontation.

You guys are really trying to make a BAD COPS!!! video out of everything, aren't cha?

Cops aren't stupid enough to do excessive force in front of a huge crowd at the beach without it being needed. Not that I even see excessive force. There aren't fists flying at the dude, just a bunch of cops trying to grapple/arrest him.

Now all police videos are watched with an eye towards brutality. People will see what they want to see.

Did you see the guy reach for the cop's gun belt? Because that is what the cop put in his report.

Meh, I saw the cop gesture to someone to back away from a police situation. I mean the camera guy was about 5 feet from the actual arrest before being asked to move back. If I was a cop making an arrest I would be nervous of people getting too close to me too. BTW, there was definitely no actual pushing, just gesturing.

We all see what we want to see.

This. The umbrella thing is stupid, but the guy should just let them arrest him for whatever stupid reason they want then deal with it later. I don't get why people think resisting/running is the cool thing to do now. It never ends well.

Lol, the whole "bad cops" straw grab argument is REALLY getting old. The woman recording the video was getting EXTREMELY agitated, so they moved/pushed her back to remove her from the situation in case she did something stupid.

The man seemed like he was given plenty of time to sign the ticket, but he instead chose that he didn't want to sign it and wanted to see a judge immediately (by default)....then thought it was a good idea to resist.

Derp.

I'm as concerned as the next guy about police brutality in this country, but aside from them being a little to quick on the tazer in this video, I don't see much problem with the police actions. I suspect the woman recording the video was going to find fault in their actions no matter what they did.

With that said, given that it is Venice beach with a large homeless population, it is quite obvious that they use obscure ordinances like that to keep them in check so they don't scare away tourists.

so the police are to just walk away, ignore the laws of the community? they were doing their jobs why is that so hard to understand.

i see no fault in the cops in this video. they guy resisted and they used less than deadly force to get control.

what about cops in front of a news chopper?

is the crowd not bigger if it's on tv??

if he failed to move his stuff isn't the punishment a citation and not arrest??
