it appears over 100 feet tall, but it is not a tidal wave, but appears to be a wave breaking over a rocky point. still scary as fuck.

z.o.m.g.!!!

if you compare it to the one-story warehouse-type building in the lower left, it's at least... 6 or 8 or more times taller... an average warehouse with roof might be 20 feet tall, putting the wave at least over 100ft, probably more like 150.

the craziest part is that if there's a rock formation in the tidal area that can create THAT MUCH break water... how the hell hasn't it eroded already? that's pretty massive.

does make sense that there is something under that wave, otherwise it seems so unnatural to crest like that.

I'll give it 60-80'. Anything larger probably would have to be from a tsunami, or breaking on an open-ocean reef or bank.

My educated guess from surfing most of my life, is that is a wave from a hurricane (or typhoon for that side of the world), and one of the biggest set waves hit a giant rock and exploded over it. That isnt the way a normal wave breaks unless it is hitting something like a rock. Ill find an example to explain my point. Either way, the waves that day had to be once a century big and total victory at sea conditions.
