Ultrawide Decision

Do you have any links for where you figured out how to fix Skyrim UI elements to work with the ultra wide? I've got 3x1680x1050 in landscape eyefinity and Skyrim is setting the UI as if my monitors are as tall as they are wide so the the words like "Save" etc. in the main menu are hilariously enormous. I fixed that issue in Fallout NV but the same .ini tricks didn't work for Skyrim for me.

I assume you're running that? You must be.

I'm almost positive that my next monitor will be an ultra wide (to replace my current eyefinity setup), but not until I can at least get 1600 vertical resolution, 36"+ screen size, 120hz, a non-TN panel, low input latency, and G/Freesync.

I'm hoping such a screen is at most a couple years away, seeing that display technology is finally seeing some momentum after all this time.

If you wanna go Ultra Wide, at least get a 3440x1440 monitor. 1080p is already so 2004.
You say you wanna keep it for a long time, please don't get 1080p.

Personally, I would never upgrade from 1920x1080 to 2560x1080.

Quick update...

Got the LG and it is AMAZING! Loving the flexibility and simplicity of a single display.

Got lucky...apparently there is a LOT of issues with the Rev 00 and Rev 01 models with horrible backlight bleed. Accordingly to a few sources, NewEgg only got the newest Rev 02 that has the issue supposedly fixed. These Rev 02 were all manufactured in June, so thats a good way to know...Because of that, it is a tough display to find right now.

Mine looks awesome and has no backlight bleed, dead pixels, or any other issues. I wasn't sure when I first set it up on my desk, but really started to like it after a few minutes of using it. After the past week, it's only getting better and it just rocks for FPS titles. The FOV is awesome and immersive.

Mine is Rev 02 and manufactured in April. It has some backlight bleed, but I wouldn't classify it as horrible, just a small amount near the lower left and right areas of the screen. If the newer units are improved in this regard I may RMA mine, will wait until stock is more plentiful though.

That pic says it all. Who needs dual monitor setups when you got that? I'm definitely going to hold out for one them. My only concern is being able to drive them from a laptop.

Make sure the laptop has DP. Hdmi is limited to 50hz...🙂

I personally do not like 21:9 ultrawides...

I'm much more incluned to get the BENQ BL3200PT 2560 x 1440
