Ultraviolet

I saw this movie today..... I can honestly say this is the absolute worst movie I've seen in years... It skipped around, made no sense, over explained obvious things, under-explained obtuse things, and generally gave me a headache... there were no twists, it was completely predictable, and the fight scenes were sub sub sub par, with them just not bothering to show a few of them..

It was as if some amateur took a bunch of pieces directed by another amateur and randomly spliced them together to try to form a whole.

If this was indeed based off the same gunfighting as equilibrium, you could've fooled me... the sword fighting and gun fighting in equilibrium was many times better than in this movie... you get the idea that she is pointing and shooting, but you cant follow it, and the "dodging bullets" scene is just an elaboration on the matrix, with a lot of silliness... (she is fast enough to dodge bullets, but has problems moving fast other times? makes no sense)

basically it is a cinematic abortion that someone would have to pay me to sit through again...

absolutely none

These movies are always the same. Let me show you guys.

Girl fights bad guys
Bad guys beat girl
Girl tries to get stronger
Girl finds bad guys
Girl beat bad guys

I didn't see th movie, but that's how many female fighting shows go. Especially, when this movie is 80 min I doubt it can really put in a good story.

it is the traditional season of utterly crap (by which i mean marginally crapper than usual) Hollywood offerings...

Well then there's no point in seeing it... at least in Underworld there was Kate Beckinsale... 😀

I wish previews of movies wouldnt give away all the good parts of movies, it makes seeing them pointless.

The person who put together the trailer did a great job.... the music and the timing was great.... but the way those same pieces were put together in the movie absolutely sucked... the bike racing sucked, the sword fights sucked... oy

Yeah, the trailers are almost always good; its the movies they are previewing that end up sucking, either just because they are bad movies or the trailer gave away too much

No one ever even comes close to beating her

I concur, Ultraviolet is one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. This is the first movie in a long time that had me looking at my watch multiple times, hoping it would end soon.

Yeah, I was "almost" tempted to walk out of a movie theater, and Ive never felt quite that way before.... of course I paid for it so i stayed, but... but... I mean, words can almost not describe it..

Yeah, it was pretty crappy. The trailer gives an entirely different impression that what the movie actually is. Not even Milla could save it.

milla is hot dammit.

but yeah, the trailer did a damn good job... for once, i didn't feel like waiting for some reason, and decided to go see it. action was 'eh' and what really got me was the merry go round... how damn cheesy was that. the whole theater started to laugh.

i think i'll just save the trailer. has all the scenes you need to see w/ milla in it.

I cant believe anyone would think this movie is good based on the commercial😕

I thought it had potential to be a decent action flick. obviously not realistic, but that wasn't the point. just wanted to see milla kick some ass. but she did that all in the trailer.. the rest of the movie was... well, already been stated.

the commercial + being the same type of martial arts fighting as equilibrium = thought it would be good...

In other news, Anandtech Off-Topic poster "Aftermath" is in critical condition tonight from a heart attack after the consecutive realizations that black people aren't white, junk food is bad for you, and wire-fu action movies that don't advertise substance, are likely to suck. More on this at eleven.
