Ultraportable laptops?

Im considering buying an ultraportable laptop. I was looking for some suggestions because I have very specific needs. It needs be be under 8 inches in the screen, it needs to run xp, it must have a touch-type keyboard, and it must weigh less than 4 lbs. I saw the sony u3 but the battery on it looked rediculious turning it into a slope. Anyone know of any that would work?

that is the whole point of a laptop. what is the point? if you wanta small nice comp i would recommend a xpc. if you want a nice laptop get a powermac g4 but that will run mac os x though

if i were you id go with a tablet pc. if budget isnt a major downfall, i found a nice one for four grand with one gig ram, two gigahurtz processor and a full version of windows xp pro

IBM subnotebooks have excellent keyboards, but the screens are larger than what you want.

8" screen probably means small keys, so you might have to choose between the keyboard and the overall size.

I have a Gateway M275, its a tablet with a 14" screen. They keyboard is just about the right size. Plus you can use the pen and write on the screen. 🙂 🙂 🙂

If you don't mind my asking, how much did that cost? I've been toying with the idea of getting a Tablet PC for school...

I paid just over $2000 for it...It works awsome at school. Battery life is about 3.5 -4 hours can be less depending on what you do with it.

That's kind of what I figured...I could see myself using that a lot (taking notes, etc), but I also don't think it would be worth going into massive credit card debt for. 😛
