Im considering buying an ultraportable laptop. I was looking for some suggestions because I have very specific needs. It needs be be under 8 inches in the screen, it needs to run xp, it must have a touch-type keyboard, and it must weigh less than 4 lbs. I saw the sony u3 but the battery on it looked rediculious turning it into a slope. Anyone know of any that would work?

IBM subnotebooks have excellent keyboards, but the screens are larger than what you want.

8" screen probably means small keys, so you might have to choose between the keyboard and the overall size.

I have a Gateway M275, its a tablet with a 14" screen. They keyboard is just about the right size. Plus you can use the pen and write on the screen. :) :) :)

If you don't mind my asking, how much did that cost? I've been toying with the idea of getting a Tablet PC for school...

I paid just over $2000 for it...It works awsome at school. Battery life is about 3.5 -4 hours can be less depending on what you do with it.

That's kind of what I figured...I could see myself using that a lot (taking notes, etc), but I also don't think it would be worth going into massive credit card debt for. :p
