Ultra320 SCSI Compatibility

Does anybody know if Ultra320 SCSI 68 pin controller card will work on a mobo with PCI and PCI-Express? All the cards I'm looking at appear to be incompatible with PCI, and I'm new to PCI-Express. The BUS on the cards looks longer than that of the VGA slot. Do I need a special mobo, or can I buy an adaptor? I'm trying to hook up several Seagate 15k Ultra320 SCSI Hard Drives, and don't know what kind of card to buy or it's compatibility with the mobo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the motherboard has PCI slots, and I can't think of one that doesn't, then you can plug your 68-pin Cheetahs into one of these. That kit includes one cable and terminator. It's backward-compatible to 32-bit 33MHz PCI but also works with 64-bit slots in 66MHz, 100MHz or 133MHz PCI-X.

Note that PCI-X is not the same thing as PCI-Express.

Granted, but will the controller card really fit into a PCI slot? The card's BUS seems too big, or maybe the terminator is what allows for it to fit? And thanks for your help.

Only half of the card's contact area fits in a standard PCI slot. The other half hangs out in open air, it's by design. If you ever get a board with PCI-X slots, then the other half of the card can plug in too.
