From what I understand, it's gotten pretty good reviews.

I think the modular power cords should be REQUIRED from now on. That's the best idea for PSUs in a long time, something I could really use given that I have an entire connection string on my 12v that I'm not using...

Isnt this just a rebadged psu? I could of swore some other company makes it and sells it for like half the price.

I use it, and I like it.

It was proven in a thread a few weeks ago that Powmax does indeed NOT make the X-connect, but Ultra themselves make it (I think they make it themselves, but I KNOW Powmax doesn't).. Either way, the power supply is great, it looks fantastic, is exttremely practical, and it's a good price. Voltages are stable as ever and I find it pretty well quiet to my ears. I couldn't be happier with it. I have the Titanium version. I can post a pic in my system if you want to see it.

i bought it on the weekend and i just installed my X-connect today, it's really easy to install.

I got a great deal on mine, $89.99 canadian after rebate. You should be able to get a $20 rebate if you purchase next week, check onrebate.com

My thoughts on it:
It really cleans up your case, and Looks especially good if you have a window and cold cathode.
Plus the specs on it are pretty good, 34 A on the +12 V Rail for example.

My only beef the 20 pin ATX Connector cable is huge, it's like half an inch or more in diameter.

there have been a number of people who have maligned this psu on this forum, so far i have nothing but good things to say about this psu (i have the titanium with uv window). i bought this psu when the thermaltake butterfly psu burned out one month after my build. (it happens). i decided i couldn't wait for the whole rma process and have my pc down that long so i bought this psu, it looks beautiful, it looks clean and so far it works.

ocz has the same issue as the antec. for me, i want all of my cables to be modular, not just the 4 pin cables. with the x-connect (which from everything i've seen is a quality built psu, not a cheapie with flash as some would like to say) i can elimate a bunch of cabling. all i need is the atx, 4pin and 5 4pin molex. i don't need the 6pin (which both the antec and ocz have and can't remove) or any fan monitoring cables (which the antec has). if i'm going to be tying back cables i might as well stick with the psu i have now. i'm tying back the 6pin cable, a fan monitoring 3 pin cable, a fan only cable and floppy ends on 2 other cables. it's a mess!

i'm going to be picking up an ultra x-connect as my next pc upgrade, it just fits what i need out of a power supply. i love my antec truepower 430, but the 500w ultra seems to be just as nice, plus the added benefit of a cleaner case.

Fisher i would wait for the OCZ Modular PSU as AznDude51 said. It is going to have all the future proof features and roughly the same amount of power as the editors choice powerstream PSU's have.

Yes i did. You want fully removable cables. Well what is the point of removing the ATX power connector!? YOu have to have it to run. YOu can remove all the other cables!

It will also be much quieter with a 120mm fan as compared to an 80mm.

6 pin aux connector as well from the looks of the pictures. altho i will say it doesn't seem to have the 3 pin fan monitoring header that the antec has. now if it turns out that the only cables hard wired are the atx power and the 4 pin aux power then i'd have to agree the ocz is worth looking at. so far that doesn't seem to be the case tho. i don't want ANY cables tied up, even one. that defeats the whole purpose of having modular cables.

Just put one of the titanium ones in my PC this weekend. It is nice that the cables are all removable from the unit. However I found the cables too long and the ATX cable is fairly thick and it doesn't bend in tight loops easily. I do like the modular plugs on the cables. They are big, easy to grip and plug in snug. The only issue I had during the install was that I needed to move my hard disk so that it wouldn't interfere with the ATX cable when plugged into my mainboard.

i've used one in my htpc for a couple of months now. it runs 24/7 and i have yet to have any issues with it. it's nice to be able to only use the cords you need.

Ummm...you've got your info backwards dude. Powmax or the people who make Powmax do NOT make the Ultra and just rebadge it. Ultra produces/manufactures these PSU's themselves, and sell them to Powmax as Powmax's rebadged top tier PSU. I can't understand why everyone has so much misinformation about this Ultra unit and insist on dirtying the reputation of it. :p
