Ultra-x 500W PSU (green) - FAR before shipping

Mixed reviews... looks like they work great if you don't get a defective one. But Ultra offers a lifetime warranty on these PSU's if you submit your registration card... takes about 2 minutes online. So at worst you have to RMA it. But hey, it's a FREE 500watt PSU!! Great post OP!

BTW, I bought one of these about 6 months ago. Rebates came in the time frame described, no problems at all.

Reviews aren't very stellar over the last 4 months though. The lopsided ratio of negative-to-positive reviews made this a deal kiler for me.

ooh, thanks for the info. The lifetime warranty option changes the deal a little bit, and it IS as simple as registering online.

it is only a single rail. there is SATA power cables in the box, 2 of them. for pci-e you'd have to get a molex to 4/6 pin adapter if your card takes external power, if not a 20 to 24 pin adapter cable

I'm running my pci-e video card using an adapter off it, and the psu is slowly dying, but I give it another 3 months, time to order another probably

Shows up as $40 after a $40 rebate for me, not counting tax.

Sale: $79.99
Reg.: $99.99
$40.00
(after rebate)

Mine is another Ultra-Infinity 500w that has been working great but this one is not the same exact model as mine and from the reviews it does not bold too well. I'd avoid it.

Keep in mind that people who get a defective product are much more likely to post a review (because they are angry) while the vast majority of those happy with their product have no need to post a review.

Statistically, reviews are most often skewed toward the negative; for example....Google any product name, followed by the word "sux" and you'll find a wealth of complaints about anything.
