Ummmmm.....why?


Looking at the case.....just from what I can see in photos, I haven't gotten mine in yet...the cages look riveted in. But that's not unusual at all.


You may have to remove the front bezel to slide your optical drive in from the front after you break out the metal cover under the bezel. You also have to remove the plastic bezel drive cover.

For the hard drive, it simply slides into its cage from inside the case.....slide it in until the screw holes in the drive line up with the holes in the cage you want to use and fasten down. You'll have to remove both side covers to access both sides of the optical and hard drives to put screws in on both sides, but once that's done, the right side cover should be put back on and probably won't have to be removed again until and unless you change a drive out.

Simple.
 
The cages are riveted, as herbie~ says.

I've used these a couple of times. You just have to slide the drives in, that's all.

 
Haha! I'll do that. Again, I am new. And I have really had the chance to put anything into the case yet to see. I will have a go this afternoon.

Just wanted to add that I got in on the deal back in January for the Blue Case and got my rebate back last week.... It's a good case and if you don't have a problem waiting for the rebate, then go for this one.😀
 
Got mine in yesterday and built it up last night. Nice case for the price.....free. But as I was assembling it, the phrase "Flexible Flyer" kept coming back into my head. Not knocking free and all, but that back panel of the case sure is thin.....bends easily. And what's with no padding on the feet....just bare metal.

But, for free.....shouldn't gripe too much! 🙂
 
The back panel is thin for sure. I've found the best way to remove the MB connector panel is to place something against it (I use the handle of a hammer) and give it a good bump with your palm. It ruins the existing pop-out panel, but you don't need it anyway.

I've tried to gently pry them out on a bunch of these cases and when I do that it hoses the case *and* the panel.

 
Well, the seductive temptress got me yet again. After seeing my other Ultra rebates are now listed on their site for payment I ordered another case last night.

It's one of those cases where I don?t need another for sure, but once it is over I will regret I didn?t buy another. Sort of like the NewEgg CPU/MB deal. I bought 3 but wish I had gotten 10 now.

I wonder when Outpost updates their weekly deals? Seems like they have the same ones for weeks and weeks.
 
got mine yesterday, have to say quality surprised me, now to see if rebate comes through or not! would be a sweet deal if rebate worked! figers xcrossed!

how is their rebate? I bought two cases from microcenter and frys. both of them are supposed to give me $20-30 rebate. but never get a single cent back:|
 
one more report on this case, I did a little modding.

Recently bought like 40 bucks of fans/case add-ons from Nexfan so is eager to mod some stuff into this new case.

Case is decent quality, but Few edges not too rounded almost cut me. The back IO plate is a crap to remove, got me so furious after 15min of trying to get it out with no avail, I got a hammer and just knock the hell of it.

Ultra don't give you any fans but I added 3x120mm(2 front, 1 back), 1x80mm (side). I placed one 120mm in between front lid and the casing by drilling a few holes for it. Another 120mm took the place of the two removed 5.25" plates. Third 120mm goes in the back. The side window I put a 80mm as vent. It's running pretty good so far, I live next to train so don't hear much although I think I have to get fan control to tune down the RPMs of those 120mm Yate Loones, bit on loud side with full power.

Anyways this case is so well vented I can put in a hot dual core later with a decent vid card. But so far just running my old Athlon XP as a file server. Anyways, good case I'm satisfied, now only if the rebate goes thru I'll be more than satisfied :]

If it's free, how bad could it be? I'm using Ultra's 500W PSU that I also got for free right now.🙂

I just built another new PC using this FAR case and a FAR 500W Ultra PS. Fired up perfectly and has been running rock solid now for 4 days. I love these deals.


On a non-related note, TOO BAD Staples has completely screwed their Rewards program. Only good now on overpriced crap that I *never* buy from them (Ink, copy center crap, paper, etc.)

That really sucks!

 
dang..missed rebate by a couple of days 🙁 I should've checked here, I was just at Fry's monday buying a Samsung laser printer $129.99-$60MIR=$69.99 laser printer...I could've picked this case up and done the rebate online...oh well...
