GeForce 2 Ultra or Matrox G400MAX?????

2D visual quality, and Multi-Monitor usage the G400 Max is considerably better.
Pretty much anything else including gaming and the GF2 Ultra will blow it away.

The G400 is a card from the same time period as the TNT2 and would perform similarly to it. The TNT2 Ultra would be a little faster... I think that pretty much says everything...

The G400 is just terrible for 3D gaming. If you do a lot of online reading, then the G400's crisp 2D quality will leave you wanting more. However, it's 3D performance will leave you gibbed.

Don't get either one, they're both a little old. The best all-purpose cards righ now are Radeons 9000, I've seen 64MB models on sale for about $60.

Thanks, I bought the Matrox G400 MAX on impulse. Right now I'm getting a refund: he hasn't shipped yet. This is really going to look bad if he gives me an eval.

it's still great for 2d (office apps & net surfing). i mean... if u have a little bro/sis, or another family member that doesn't care about gaming (not sure about dvd)... the matrox will still suffice.
