I just got the Ultra Fan Commander from tigerdirect for only around $15 shipped, and the damn thing crashes all the time and causes my fans to stop spinning. The back plate wont stay on, and the buttons sometimes do not work. I think this is probably the worst quality PC product I have ever had. What are your experiences with Ultra?

Reviews of the Ultra Microfly mATX cube case say the case is higher quality than the Aspire X-QPack, but not as well built as the Silverstone SG-10 cube.

I don't have any Ultra parts myself but am seriously considering the Microfly for a small server.

People are very polar about Ultra. They're bad enough often enough to not be worth the hassle IMO.

Thier early PSU  Thier most current PSUs are testing OK.

Thier cases tend to be of thin material. If bling interests you, a current PSU might be worth a look.

Thier fan controller...I have no idea. Things are built to a price point, then there is end user error.
I have a Sunbeam Rheobus that someone plugged in backwards and let the majic smoke out of it. Happens!

OP, I searched your posts. Might serve you well to spend less time in OT and ask here before you buy ;) This is your first post here in 90 days.

It was only $15 on sale for a very short time so I bit :p

Only 45 min after buying it went out of stock the the item dissapeared from TD. The return shipping charges wouldnt be worth getting this replaced. It is going to meet my hammer later tonight.

yeah, they're really cheap, in price and sometimes in quality. I'd never buy their RAM, I considered their psu, but dumped that idea for a higher quality one, and Their cases don't look so bad... meh.

Avoid shopping at TD. Thier RMAs are a PITA from what I hear and better deals can be had elsewhere.

SVC.com has scads of fan controllers for cheap.

I have an Ultra Microfly case and love it. Granted it is made of thin aluminum and seems flimsy when the covers are off ( three pieces: Top and two sides ) but when it is together it is fine. And it will accept a full sized power supply. I didn't buy the Ultra PS though I used my own Truepower PS which I've had for several years.

That's what I was going to say. Ultra products, except maybe their cases, are absolutely horrible. Why do you think TD pushes them so hard?
