Question Ultra low power GPU for command line (or, GT1030 alternatives)

I want to build a NAS/server around a Ryzen 2600X that I already have. I was looking for the smallest possible GPU to run a command line for installation and debugging use only, and found the GT1030 DDR4 to be the best option as its 20W TDP was the lowest I could find. Are there any other extremely efficient video cards that I should consider? Anything I can do to minimize power usage of this card at idle?

My first choice was a USB video adapter, but I'm concerned about compatibility issues with Linux, especially during OS installation. If anyone has some experience with this, I'd love to hear it -- I haven't been able to find any success stories yet.

GeForce GT 1030 is the most modern choice. I assume it will also have the best idle power management. But it's expensive IMO for the purposes of running simple GUIs.
Cheaper alternative: GeForce GT 710. Notable to mention that ZOTAC makes a PCIE x1 variant.

GT 710 is out of consideration for being too old, I'd like to be up to date. Video decoding capability on the GT 1030 is somewhat attractive as well.

I prefer to reuse my old hardware instead of selling, so I hadn't considered the replace-with-APU path. What's the best way to sell? FS/FT forum? eBay?

Looks like the Ryzen 3 3200GE would be a perfect successor to my current Xeon E3-1235L v5, but it's not available for sale? I'm still a bit undecided on what I expect out of this machine; my current server ended up being basically an overpowered NAS, but with a 2600X and GT 1030 I could see room to expand to HTPC, home security/automation, build server, etc.

It is, just not the 'E' version of it.

Yes, I did see the 3200G but I would've preferred the lower 35W TDP on the 3200GE; that Xeon is only 25W and has an IGP. Is it true that Ryzen APUs don't support ECC? I've seen mixed reports about whether it works in theory and no working examples.

Yeah, the 'E' stands for 'Embedded' and is OEM only, typically for laptops.

Picasso does not support ECC memory.

If you look hard enough, you should be able to find one. They're available retail from certain specialist vendors here in Denmark at least. Cost an arm and leg compared to the regular version, so not worth IMHO. But YMMV.

But, you can just get the regular version an cTDP down. That should take it to 45W at least. Maybe even 25W, I don't know how far down you can go.

Newegg currently has Corn GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 cards for slightly under $50.

Edit: And a supposedly-genuine GTX 750 1GB GDDR5 for under $60.

I decided to stick with the 2600X, and got a B450 and a fanless GT 1030 DDR4. I appreciate the advice on APUs and IPMI, but the motivation for this build is to reuse the 2600X so I don't want to spec it out from scratch on a new platform.
