Ultra 600W PSU FAR (Now Free Shipping!)

Hmmm, saw this a day or two ago and it had free shipping, but I didn't notice a rebate.

What's the likelihood of ever seeing this rebate fulfilled, at least, not without a lot of pissing and moaning? I inherently don't trust these types of deals (I'm exclusively talking about these FAR deals where the rebate covers the entire cost of the product), particularly from budget mfr's like Ultra.

You may be better off just going with the Truepower Trio for $65 (as previously posted), not that this doesn't appear to be a good PSU. Then again, I suppose there's nothing to lose.
 
A lot of people do get their Ultra mid tower case rebates, so I don't see any problems with this one.

I'd like to point out that I got my Ultra rebates earlier this week from 3 different items. There weren't the fastest with their rebates, but they came through.

UPDATE: In fact, I just got another $40 rebate from Ultra today. They've been pretty good about getting rebates to me this time around. Now Frys on the other hand....still waiting.
 
And Id like to point out that I have been using the PSU in my sig for over 2 years and Ive never had a problem except for the UV light going out on the fan. They ARE good PSUs.

I still may get this if something better doesnt come along.
 
I got my Ultra rebates through OnRebate just fine, several infact. But this is White Bear Lake, never tried that rebate house

I've received rebates for their PSU and their case.
 
I've gotten all my ultra rebates also.......2 power supplies and 1 case. They just delivered the corsair 520 I ordered today or I would have been all over this one. Still might be actually if it ever shows free shipping. Hard for me to turn down free.....lol
 
I solely meant rebates where they're recompensing for the entire cost of the product, not their rebates in general. I'm sure they're as good/bad as everyone else in that regard.

The rebates I received were for the entire cost of the product.

I agree offering a product for free with high rebates smells like the Tiger a few years ago, not sure how much longer they can do this as it is not profitable.
I'm guessing they are trying to buy marketshare for future return purchasers.
 
eh is this good or not? I currenyl have a 400W fortran PSU that is chugging alone perfectly fine with great stability on the rails, which is what i'm concerned about the most. However, a friend's psu recently hit the crapper so I may just get this for myself and toss them my old one. However, stability is HUGE for me (way more important that raw wattage) so I wanted to see what you guys thought

I had 6 outstanding Ultra rebates from White Bear Lake. I bought 6 Ultra products with 4-5 weeks of each other. I've already received 3 of the 6, and the other three are in the system. The rebates seem to take 8 weeks which is good.

 
I have received 3 of 5 Ultra rebates thus far. They take a bit but you can track them well and so far so good.

They were all for FAR items (Cases and PS)
 
It's a good PSU...i have this exact model in my current system pushing my e6300 to 3.2 ghz and running 3 hard drives, one dvd, 3 x120 mm fans and a 7950GT. My rails stay very stable and consistent at 12v, 3.3v and 5v.
 
judging from reviews it seems to have decent rails. However it looks like it only has about a 70% efficiency rating, which is fairly bad. Youll make up in your electric bill the cost you save with the rebate. 🙂 Just for your info.

Looks like a decent psu though other than that. Cant really complain about an almost FAR PSU. Ill prolly jump on one to resell if it gets free shipping.
