i think sleeper care also entails something that could pass you on the road and you would think of it as just another grocery getter. like it wouldnt have hude rear wings, large hood intakes, and big buzzy dual exhausts. It looks like a regular car, but under the hood its a monster

well £48,000 new, which was a bad idea during the recession lol

ive found one on ebay for £10,800

which considering the cars age, 12 years at the youngest, is still a fair chunk of cash. but damn its a fast car. its a brute. its rareness is probably the reason for the price.

that ones actually an opel omega, opel are what vauxhalls are called in the rest of europe. has a better name omega > carlton. same car jus left hand drive. this one was sold in germany before being brought to england. there are only 250 lotus carltons, so getting a carlton puts you in an exclusive club.

The 04 GTOs without the hood scoops look like true sleeper cars. You can even order an 06 GTO with the hood scoop delete option so that the front end looks like an 04.

yeah they own them all right, but vauxhalls are pretty good now a days, very well built, and even the lowly 1.2litre corsa's are very gutsy in terms of performance.

GM dont seem to have dabbled in them 2 much, vauxhall/opel have been left to get on with things their way

Did you actually click on the link and read the article? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I've always wondered if the Carltons shared any engine components with the GNX.

Anytime 4-door sleeper is mentioned, you need to put a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 on the list.

They do funny things like selling the Corsa under the Chevy badge in Latin America, though.

The ultimate sleeper is a diesel pickup that runs 11's in the 1/4 mile.

THAT is a sleeper. No one thinks of pickups as fast, especially a diesel!

Mine was sliver 78 with a stock 305 v8 shoved under the hood of that light car. Even stock there wasnt many cars that could keep up with it and got lots of laughs at the lights trying to race some one and then I would laugh when I took them from the light and kept going ;)
Haha, Marlin's got one of those sitting in his garage waiting for some TLC

Thats about as bad as people with plain mustangs that think they have a sleeper. If you loose the monster hood scoop maybe you could say thats a sleeper but with it I am atleast going to think its a WRX and those are modded all the freaking time.

I own one of the ulitmate sleepers an 89 turbo caravan that has just about finished an engine rebuild.

GNX FTW.
The Buick T-Types were sleepers. The GNX was much more in your face. The T-types had the same underpinnings as the GNX w/ the standard Regal trim.

The ultimate sleeper would be a 1995 Buick Roadmaster wagon w/ Impala SS suspension parts and a Lingenfelter 383. Not even the cops would see you coming.
The Buick GS, known as the "Gran Sleeper". No spoilers or any other flash to give away the fact that a 455ci torque monster is under the hood.
