Don't know how comfortable carrying 8 liters of water on your back would be, but its definitely got the capacity for long solo runs.
I've got a Camelbak Marathoner now, and despite the lousy name, its a capable hydration pack. But, with only 2Ls, its coming up short on these hot summer days. I could put two additional water bottles in the Camelbak's front pouches, they're designed for it. But then I'd have to carry another belt or something to store gels, food, electrolytes, etc.
