I need a new phone for work. I'm switching to Tmobile and I need to figure out what phone to get. Work is buying, so price isn't a concern.

I'm currently using an S5 and didn't hate it. Just looking for something...better?

There's the Note 4.

The Nexus 6 should be unveiled this month which is what I'm personally going with.

Note 4, z3, z3c would be upgrades/same level to the s5

You could look at the droid turbo (on Verizon, but should work mostly on T-Mobile as well)

My loki-able S4 just broke so I hope I get one too. Makes me nervous because its always such a pain in the ass to buy a Nexus phone day one.

Yeah. Hopefully the nice size will keep the small phone guys away and give me the time to buy one. ;)

After seeing those articles about Google experimenting with multiwindow like features, I am hoping and praying for that to be in L. Large display, minimal bezels, front facing speakers, on screen nav buttons, and (possibly) multiwindow all in a Nexus device? This just might be the closest thing to perfect for me.

Note 4 is probably the top of the line Android phone for now. The S5 LTE-A (SM-G906S or SM-G901F) both have the 805 SoC with the former also having a 5.2" QHD screen & 3GB RAM are handy for those who want top end spec without the larger phone size. LG is coming out with a G3 LTE-A with the 805 as well, hopefully with a better screen/battery though.

They can be found sim free & this is the network support for both:

2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 4G Network LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600

Didn't think about the Sonys....

I've been with Samsung for a long time, so I wouldn't mind a Note 4. My Note 2 was one of my favorite phones ever. I'm just hoping to find something new.

And I'm also not interested in phones that don't exist yet :p

S5 is still near the top. The 'ultimate high end' keeps meaning larger and larger for some stupid reason, so keep that in mind.

If I could have a 7" tablet with real texting, no voice and unlimited 4G I would carry that all day. Google Voice is almost there but not quite.

right now, Z Ultra would be close (6.4")

There are Samsung tablets (and Sony Tablet Compact) coming out with voice support... maybe some carriers (eg T-mobile) would treat them as phones and allow unlimited LTE on them. also, rumors of a Z Ultra upgrade (Z3x rumor)

Yeah, the Z3 Verizon version was just announced last week, the T-Mobile version has been talked about much earlier, but they didn't actually announce it officially until this morning

The Note 4 looks really awesome and if you like Samsung, you're going to love it.

Possibly the Droid Turbo depending on the camera. I'll probably be getting the Sony Z3C though.

It is an awesome phablet. It is also only $315 at Expansys (GPE version is also available with $20 more).

Very interesting.

I ordered a OnePlus One. I'm going to use that until I come across a used Ultra (I buy and refurb mobile devices). I'm hoping I love the One but a main reason for switching to Tmo is I want to be able to easily swap devices. In the past year I've used a Note 2, iPhone 5S and an S5. If I could have swapped SIMs, I probably would have gone through 5 or 6 more.

yeah, but unfortunately it's gimped compared to the Z/Z1/Z2/Z3 (camera sucks, no flash, battery life is meh since they made it really thin but only 3050mAh... everything else is top notch - CPU/GPU/RAM/waterproof). There is a GPE edition as well

If the Z3x comes out next year, it'll be a nice

Yes, I wouldn't get the Z Ultra for all the above reasons. No flash on the camera is crazy and the battery life is supposed to be meh. If you want the Z Ultra, I agree with waiting for the next one. The low price on the Z Ultra is tempting but that's about it.

Good choice, great phone. If I had an invite I would probably not wait until the Nexus lol.

I didn't know about the invite thing. Can't you just buy one from Amazon?

I bought mine from a buddy. Unopened, brand new for quite a bit less than Amazon.
