Ultimate Hard Drive Cooler + do not cover holes

I'm considering purchasing two Vantec Ultimate Hard Drive Coolers to make my RAID drives cool (I'll be running it 24/7). The reviews say that this cooler has a spring retention mechanism to keep the aluminum heat sink in contact with the drive... but wouldn't this cover the "DO NOT BLOCK AIRFLOW" holes on my drives? (Western Digital WD1200JB 8MB). If I understand correctly, the Ultimate Hard Drive Cooler comes in contact with the face of the drive (not the PCB side) where the holes are located. Would this be a problem? I want to increase the reliability of my drives, not decrease it.

Thanks.

i used it on my WD drive with no problem...but my "do not cover" hole is int he corner which is "recessed" down from the top of the drive so it didnt cover the hole at all.
also one of my fans ended up burning out after a few months so i just took then all out and let it go via passive cooling and it worked great

The holes just cannot be sealed shut (ie - don't cover with a sticker)

they need to be there to regulate air pressure. As long as you don't seal it, you should be fine. Are the drive coolers completely sealed too?

some drive coolers are completely sealed...mainly an aluminum shell stuffed with sound absorbing foam. yeah your hard drive runs a little hotter (unless you get the foam stuffed ones with the intake fans) but they are silent............but come to hink of it i have never seen a hard drive die from heat.
