Kimbo seems like he's pretty humble and has a lot of insight into his own image and situation in life. I was quite surprsied.

You didn't miss much.

You missed roy nelson sit on kimbo's face and him lightly tapping kimbo's head for a tko. boring as hell.

I thought TKO are supposed to stop because of potential damage. Granted he could have held him there all day and could have went to decision. I don't see anyone getting hurt from that.

Its not like Kimbo was dazed or even remotely damaged coming out of round one and all that happened in round 2 was pretty much the same.

a W is a W in my book, however sloppy it is. Not like kimbo didnt have like 1000 chances, he just wasnt prepared at all for someone 250lb to sit on his face, but Kimbo really never did have a ground game.

Yes, but because his face was being "sat on by the moon" the ref is unable to see his face and make any determination about his state. Aside from a few small bursts Kimbo did just lay there.

Boring fight. I found the interviews to be the best part of the whole show.

I'm surprised that Kimbo lost. I was thinking they would set it up so he would win.

It didn't seem like he even tried to escape. It was probably stopped to spare us 3 more minutes of seeing him in the same position. Nelson would have won anyways with 2 take downs and maintaining control.

Not so sure that if they had gotten back to their feet Kimbo wouldn't have knocked him out. It looked like he stunned Roy a few times.

It was a lame fight and I think with more time and instruction Kimbo could be good.

And Roy looks like crap, I've never seen a more out of shape looking guy in UFC.

they also stop the fights if the guy can't defend himself. Sure nelson could have blasted on Kimbo when he had him in the cruxifex but why? why risk hurting his hand or wrist? he is going to have to fight agian in 2-3 weeks.

yes Roy looks out of shape. wich is why he was neve in the UFC. BUT he is a damn good fighter and has great cardio and flexibilty. he has fought the best outside of UFC (was robbed in 2 fights) and has a good record.

he is the odds on favorite to win TUF. and really did anyone really think Kimbo had a chance?

I really like kimbo. he seems a nice guy and wants to learn. But he is not ready for the UFC at all.

From this fight I can see why they say that Kimbo has potential. If Kimbo worked soley on his ground game for a year or so he might be up to par; his striking skills are already pretty decent, his ground game sucks and it's such a huge flaw that any grappler can take him down.

Doesn't matter, he is a big $$$$$$$$ draw, so he is in till he stops being one. As I posted the other day, news is that he made it to the UFC.

Judging from the previews, Marcus will bail so Kimbo can get right back in the cage again. Dana did his usual propaganda minister job, the way he down plays how Roy completely dominated him on the ground with " he did just enough to win, without getting hit." in a dismissive tone. Sounds like a pretty damned good strategy to me. Not get hit+win=Sign me up!

I also found it interesting that Roy made the comment to a couple other fighters, that it doesn't matter if you are just gently slapping them in the face, the rule states that they have to intelligently defend themselves. Then he proceeded to use that rule to beat Kimbo. Very intelligent game planning, it is a damned shame he isn't mass marketable because of his terrible body.

yeah from what i hear Kimbo does make it in the UFC. he will be have some cans to fight but he is never going to be a champion. at least until he works on his ground game a lot.

yeha roy did exactly what he had to. he won without getting hurt. wich is good since he has to fight again pretty quick. dont judge Roy on his fights in TuF. look at his fights on Youtube. the guy is preety damn good.

I just edited my post to mention Roy. He is a very intelligent fighter, and the fact he handles his own business affairs speaks well of him too.

@35 You have to wonder how much gas Kimbo has left in the tank, before he shaves the beard and becomes just plain old Kevin again? His best bet is to make crazy bills (if he hasn't already), so he is motivated to make the money to pay them 😛
